Chapter 11

Late that afternoon, the two men said their goodbyes. As they left, Hunter turned to look back at the imposing gate to read that one bold word again, SANCTUM. He tried to watch as they drove along the tall fence to see how far the land extended. The warm sun shining through the windshield combined with the hum of the tires and his exhaustion lulled him soon into sleep. He missed the rest of the return trip to Lazzaro’s beautiful home on the lake. Lazzaro woke him up with a gentle kiss, and he unbuckled his safety belt. Hunter knew he could have slept much longer as he groggily followed the large man holding his hand.

Covered with dust, both men toed off their boots at the back door. When Lazzaro took his hand once again to lead him down the deck stairs to the space below, Hunter didn’t ask any questions. He just limped after him. Muscles that he didn’t even know he had were aching after riding for the first time. When he saw the hot tub, he groaned in anticipation.

“Please tell me that we’re getting in the tub?” he begged.

“Yes, Little boy. I think you’ll feel better after soaking your body. First, we need to rinse off the dust.” Lazzaro turned a spigot on the side of the house, and a shower head began to cascade water from above. “Clothes off, Little boy. Let me help you.” Lazzaro stripped Hunter’s clothes off with mechanical efficiency throwing them in a puff of dust to the side. A warm hand cupped his bottom to urge him into the open shower. He removed the top of the hot tub revealing the steaming water inside and pressing a button to start the water swirling inside. Only, then did he begin taking his clothes off. “Hunter duck your head under as well. Your hair is covered in dust. Then, step into the tub and relax.”

By the time he was undressed, Hunter was lowering himself into the tub. “Aaaahhhh! This feels amazing, Lazzaro.” His eyes closed in enjoyment as his muscles began relaxing. He heard the shower turn off and opened his eyes when he heard a few bumps as several items were set down on the side of the tub. Opening his eyes to see bottles of water and a smaller vial of something thick, Hunter groaned again, “Water! I think I swallowed a pound of dust today.” He took the bottle of water that Lazzaro offered him and twisted off the top to drink thirstily. He watched the large man step into the hot tub as well. Hunter scooted over on the seat as Lazzaro settled next to him.

They both sat quietly, relaxing in the warm water and drinking the water. When Hunter finished his bottle, he recapped it and threw it toward his clothes to take inside later. The water was amazing. He enjoyed catching glimpses of Lazzaro’s hard body through the bubbles that rose through the water. When Lazzaro
